Meet the Team: Saff & Kayleigh
This month we’re catching up with two of the friendly faces behind our Construction team, Saff Barton and Kayleigh Edgar. From handling enquiries to keeping jobs on track, they help keep everything running smoothly at Binder HQ.

What do you do at Binder?
Saff:
I am an Administrative Assistant primarily supporting the Construction team.
My role covers a wide range of responsibilities, from managing incoming enquiries to processing invoices. In short, I handle the essential paperwork that keeps everything running smoothly.
Kayleigh:
I am a Construction Admin Assistant supporting the Construction team.
My day involves handling incoming enquiries, answering telephone calls, inputting data onto various systems, and creating paperwork for jobs.
How long have you been part of the team?
Saff:
1 year 5 months. I joined in April 2024.
Kayleigh:
I am a new starter and have only been with the company for a couple of weeks!
What does a typical day look like for you? Any favourite tasks or unexpected moments?
Saff:
I work a standard 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, but I usually arrive around 8:00. This gives me time to review emails, set priorities for the day, and catch up with colleagues.
Managing calendars and the overall schedule of works is a big part of my role as it keeps everything organised and efficient.
I really enjoy collaborating with other teams in the office, all with a shared focus on putting our customers first.
When I first joined, I was surprised to learn just how large Binder is. I thought we only operated across Norfolk and Suffolk, but we’re actually a nationwide business.
Kayleigh:
A normal day includes handling incoming enquiries and arranging high priority tasks.
I thoroughly enjoy the computer side of things, including uploading documents and processing requests on our system.
The most unexpected part of joining Binder has been how friendly and helpful everyone is. Starting a new job is always daunting, but the team have been nothing short of brilliant.
What makes your role rewarding or fun?
Saff:
My colleagues always make time for a laugh, which creates a positive and enjoyable atmosphere in the office. They are hardworking and make teamwork feel effortless.
I find it rewarding to assist customers and guide them in the right direction. Even if I don’t always have the answer myself, I can rely on my colleagues to help ensure customers receive the information they need.
Kayleigh:
I pride myself on providing the best possible customer service.
Being able to assist customers with their queries and get them to the correct people smoothly is something I find rewarding.
The office environment at Binder is the perfect mix between professional and fun. My colleagues will always make time for a quick chat, and we can all have a laugh together.
What are you into when you’re not on the clock?
Saff:
I enjoy a wide variety of arts and crafts including painting, photography (I even have an A Level in this), sketching, knitting, and clay modelling to name a few.
I’m very much a homebody, and my favourite seasons are autumn and spring, perfect times to get inspired for creative projects or go exploring with my sister and nephew.
In the winter months, I love nothing more than cosying up with a blanket, a good book, or a favourite show.
Kayleigh:
The more I’ve grown up, the more I’ve definitely become a homebody.
I enjoy being at home with my partner and our dog, watching a good series or movie and eating good food.
A typical weekend includes a nice dog walk, taking care of our home, cuddles with the dog, and good TV to wind down.
I’ve also recently got into reading, so I enjoy taking time in the evening to sit and read.
You’re stranded, one album forever. What are you choosing?
Saff:
System of a Down – Toxicity
Kayleigh:
Morgan Wallen – Dangerous: The Double Album
Coffee or tea, and how do you take it?
Saff:
I’m definitely more of a tea person. I like it strong, with one sweetener and just a dash of red milk.
That said, I do enjoy a coffee now and then, but only if it’s a caramel latte.
Kayleigh:
Although I don’t often drink hot drinks, my definite choice would be a coffee with two sugars and caramel syrup.
Big night in, what’s on your order?
Saff:
My takeaway of choice has to be Chinese. I can never resist honey roast pork with vegetable chow mein. It’s an unbeatable favourite!
Kayleigh:
Nothing beats an Indian takeaway. My favourite is a chicken tikka masala!
