Meet the team – Sam
We’re excited to introduce another vital member of our team here at Binder. Say hello to Sam Oshunsemi, one of the team behind our tanker scheduling operation. Since joining the team in early 2025, Sam has become a key part in keeping our logistics running smoothly and our customers happy. Here’s a look at life behind the scenes with Sam.

Job Title: Tanker Scheduler
Time at Binder: 10 months and counting. I joined the team in early 2025, quickly settling into the rhythm of the operation and building strong relationships across the board.
A day in your life at Binder:
My days are fast-paced, varied, and always customer-focused. The perfect mix of challenge and satisfaction. I start by diving into the inbox, triaging email queries from clients and drivers, and investigating any discrepancies in loads, timings, or routes. From there, it’s straight into booking jobs. Coordinating tanker movements, ensuring compliance with schedules, and liaising with depots to keep everything running like clockwork.
Mid-morning often brings a flurry of real-time adjustments. Maybe a last-minute load change or a driver needing quick guidance. It keeps things exciting. Afternoons are dedicated to data. Updating our live tracking systems, pulling together Excel reports on monthly KPIs (fuel efficiency, on-time deliveries, utilisation rates), and spotting trends to help the ops team plan ahead.
Favourite tasks? Solving a tricky scheduling puzzle that keeps a client happy or nailing a complex multi-drop route that saves time and mileage. Unexpected moments? The occasional “emergency” call that turns into a 30-second fix. Or the rare quiet 10 minutes to grab a brew with the team and debrief the morning’s wins.
Best part of the job:
Hands down, it’s the combination of slick systems and brilliant people. Binder’s scheduling platform is intuitive and robust. It eliminates manual headaches, flags issues before they escalate, and lets me focus on what matters: delivering for customers. But what truly elevates the role is the team around me. From the planners who anticipate problems to the drivers who execute flawlessly, everyone’s got each other’s backs. That camaraderie, paired with the tangible impact of getting tankers where they need to be, on time, every time, makes every shift rewarding.
Outside of work:
Balance is key. I’m a regular at the gym. Early morning sessions to start my day right. Weekends are for quality time with friends and family. Barbecues in the park, long catch-ups over dinner, or just chilling at home. And of course, I’m a die-hard Arsenal supporter. COYG. Nothing beats match day at the Emirates or screaming at the TV with mates when we’re chasing a result. Win, lose, or draw, it’s passion on another level.
Desert island disc:
Tough call, but I’d smuggle two classics onto the island:
- Usher – Confessions: Pure early-2000s R&B gold. Every track is a vibe. From the smooth grooves to the raw emotion.
- Tory Lanez – Playboy Live: High-energy, infectious, and perfect for keeping spirits up when the coconuts run low.
Both albums on repeat? Not a problem at all.
Tea or coffee – and how do you take it?
Tea, always. Strong brew, splash of almond milk, and either no sugar or a teaspoon of natural honey for that gentle sweetness. Keeps me sharp without the jitters.
Takeaway of choice:
Big night in calls for a Chinese feast, ordered exactly right:
- King prawn fried rice. No peas, rice thoroughly mixed with soy sauce until it’s that perfect shade of brown, prawns crisply fried.
- Salt and pepper king prawns. Extra chilli kick.
- Beef in black bean sauce. Tender beef, punchy sauce, plenty of peppers and onions.
- Pot of chilli oil on the side for dipping.
- Ice-cold Coke to wash it all down.
Settle in with a movie, plate piled high. Pure comfort.
