Binder Joins Our Rivers Project
Last week, the Binder team joined partners from Our Rivers to officially break ground on a project we’re incredibly proud to be part of. Together, we’re tackling one of Norfolk’s biggest environmental challenges: protecting and restoring the county’s rivers.

Our Rivers has launched at the source of the River Wensum, a nationally significant chalk stream. By upgrading septic tanks in the area, we’re reducing harmful nutrients that damage habitats and wildlife, while enabling sustainable development through nutrient neutrality.
For homeowners, the scheme offers fully funded septic tank upgrades plus a £2,000 contribution toward ongoing maintenance. For Norfolk, it means cleaner water, healthier habitats, and investment back into local communities through our environmental partner, the Norfolk Rivers Trust.
At Binder, we’ve been delivering wastewater solutions for over 60 years. This project reflects everything we stand for: engineering that lasts, long-term thinking, and care for the places we live and work in.
“This project is exactly the kind of work we believe in. It brings together good engineering, long-term thinking, and real care for the places we work in.” – Ed Binder, Director
This is just the beginning. By working together, we can ensure Norfolk’s rivers remain something worth protecting for generations to come.
