Three Generations, One Family Business
Binder is an established family-run business founded in 1964 and trusted by customers for over 55 years. The company was started by Wallace Binder, who built the business on strong relationships, practical expertise, and a commitment to doing things properly. Over the years, the business has grown and evolved while staying true to those original values. 1963
Wallace Binder began development of concrete ring product.
1964
Binder Concrete formed. Development of square concrete ring.
1966
Moved to Progress Works in Claydon, Suffolk. Expansion of concrete product line
1968
Diversified into high level land drains and purchased the first sewage treatment plant. Binder Filler Maintenance formed and began servicing pumps. Grew team to a total of 8.
1978
First of three UK companies to take delivery of a package sewage treatment plant from Finland.
1980
Binder Construction formed. Began supply and installation of sewage treatment plant systems.
1986
All divisions of the business were incorporated into Binder Ltd.
1988
Purchased first tanker and built on-site sewage treatment plant at Progress Works
1991
First BSI accreditation – achieving ISO 9001
2007
BSI Environmental management accredited – ISO 14001
2009
Grandson Ed Binder joined the business
2013
BSI Occupational Health & Safety Management accredited – ISO 18001
2014
Shaun joined Senior Management team as Director
2021
BSI Occupational Health & Safety Management accredited – ISO 45001 – superseding 18001 accreditation
2022
Employ over 90 people, Granddaughter Jenny Binder joined the business as Financial Controller.
2024
Binder celebrates 6 decades in business, serving over 20,000 customers and local businesses across the Eastern region.
2024
Jenny Binder joins the Senior Leadership Team as Finance Director
2025
Binder granted a Royal Warrant of Appointment for the provision of Wastewater Treatment Services.
